How To Make Air Fryer Frozen Vegetables

To make this recipe start with preheating the Air Fryer to 400℉ for 3 minutes.

You can put the vegetables in the Air Fryer basket but I like to use a cake or baking pan.

That way no vegetables can go through the cracks and you only have to clean the baking pan and save your dishes.

Now drizzle some olive oil or spray cooking oil on top of the vegetables. Then sprinkle with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper to taste.

Cook the frozen vegetables for 8 minutes. Toss the vegetables halfway during the cooking time.

If you want to give your vegetables even more flavor add 1-2 tablespoons of homemade garlic butter to the vegetables.

You will love it. Serve immediately.

Do I Need To Thaw My Frozen Vegetables To Prepare In An Air Fryer?

No, you do not need to thaw your vegetables. In fact, you get the best result when you cook the vegetables from frozen.

All that moisture in the vegetables will evaporate while cooking so the vegetable stays crisp.

If you thaw it first there will be more water than the Air Fryer can evaporate which will not result in crispy veggies.

Do I Need To Spray My Air Fryer Basket?

No, you do not. I recommend you use a baking pan or cake pan to cook your frozen vegetables because it has several benefits:

  1. Cleaning – you only have to clean the cake pan and keep the rest of the Air Fryer clean
  2. Stir – when you have the vegetables in the pan you can stir them easier compared to the basket or grill
  3. Additions – you can add ingredients like garlic butter or creamy sauce when using a baking pan. This is not possible when using the Air Fryer basket only it will drip right through

Are All Vegetables Cooked The Same?

No, there are different Air Fryer cooking times for different types of vegetables. You can roughly divide vegetables into three categories when it comes to cooking time.

  1. Fast cooking vegetables – these vegetables take between 5 to 10 minutes to cook
  2. Medium cooking vegetables – these vegetables take between 8 and 15 minutes to cook
  3. Slow cooking vegetables – these vegetables take between 15 to 30 minutes to cook

Almost all frozen vegetables are blanched for 2-3 minutes before they are frozen. Check the package before cooking else add another 3-5 minutes to the cooking time.
