This guide is for replacing the microphone on the Gamepad of the Nintendo Wii U.

Step 1

Before disassembling the microphone of your Gamepad Wii U, you have to turn it off for safety reasons.

To do so, press the power button for a few seconds.

Step 2

With a cruciform screwdriver remove the two screws circled in red that secure the battery cover.

Step 3

Life that cover and remove it.

Step 4

Disconnect the battery by pulling on it.

Step 5

Grab and remove the battery.

Step 6

The battery of your Gamepad Wii U is now disassembled.

Step 7

10 stickers circled in green hide screws.

Step 8

With theiSesamo, peel them off one by one.

Step 9

Grab and remove the stylus.

Step 10

With a triwing screwdriver, remove the 10 screws circled in red that secure the rear case.

Step 11

Grab the rear case a flip it to a 90° angle without removing it.

Careful, the vibrator cable is still attached to the rest of the Gamepad!

Step 12

Gently pull on that cable to disconnect it.

Remove the rear case.

Step 13

Grab the R button and remove it.

Step 15

Gently disconnect the left speaker cable.

Step 16

Then disconnect the bottom buttons board cable with the nylon spudger.

Step 17

With the nylon spudger, disconnect the WiFi board from the logic board.

Step 18

One by one, disconnect the WiFi antennas with the nylon spudger.

Step 19

Grab and remove the WiFi board.

Step 20

Use the nylon spudger to unlock the ABXY and R buttons connector.

Remove the cable from its connector.

Step 21

Then disconnect the right joystick.

Step 22

Then disconnect the touch screen cable with the nylon spudger.

Step 23

Finish by disconnect the LCD screen cable.

Step 24

Then disconnect the left speaker by pulling on its cable very carefully.

Step 25

Unlock the connector from the LCD backlighting cable.

Then remove the cable from its connector.

Step 26

Disconnect and remove the left joystick cable from its connector.

Step 27

Disconnect and remove the ZL and L cable from its connector.

Step 28

Use the nylon spudger and disconnect the NFC board and flip it to a 90° angle.

Step 29

Gently disconnect one by one the dock connector cable and the left speaker cable.

Step 30

Remove the three cruciform screws circled in red that secure the logic board.

Step 31

Grab the logic board and remove it.

Step 32

The logic board of your Gamepad Wii U is now disassembled.

Step 33

Grab the dock connector and remove it.

Step 34

With the cruciform screwdriver, remove the two screws circled in red that secure the bottom buttons bracket.

Step 35

Grab the microphone cable and remove it from the bracket.

Step 36

Grab and remove the bracket.

Step 37

Then gently grab the microphone and remove it.

Step 38

The microphone on your Gamepad Wii U is now disassembled.

You can replace it with a new one if needed.
